Oral Surgery & Oral Surgery Referrals

A tooth may need to be removed for a number of reasons but an extraction should be nothing to worry about, as we take a considerate and caring approach and are highly experienced in this field of dentistry. Our oral surgery services are led by Jo Rees, our highly experienced Specialist Oral Surgeon, but also carried out by Anna Vincent, who has a special interest in this area and years of hospital experience.

Routine extractions can usually be successfully completed by most dentists, but not all extractions are simple and complications can arise, which your dentist may not be able, or feel comfortable, to manage. The oral surgery services we provide include removal of impacted wisdom teeth, extractions that may be potentially complex, completion of failed extractions by your own dentist, removal of cysts and soft tissue lesions, and sedation.

NHS Referrals

Referrals are usually accepted on an NHS basis and require a referral from your own NHS or private dentist. If you don’t have a dentist and feel you may need use of our oral surgery services, please visit NHS Choices to identify which practices are accepting new patients and they can refer you, if appropriate to do so. If you cannot find an NHS dentist, Liz Mather, the Principal Dentist at Eden Dental Practice, can provide you with a private consultation and she will be able to refer you to our NHS oral surgery service, if this is indicated.

NHS oral surgery services provided at the practice do not require any additional patient charge, unless sedation is provided, in which case Band 2 NHS charge will apply.
